The SAVE ACT
The SAVE Act was on the floor of the US Senate this week. Debate started on Tuesday and has gone into the late evening hours since it began. Senators are expected to stay over the weekend to continue debating the legislation and offering amendments. The League urged Senators to vote NO on the legislation. Please use the resources below around this bill:
Updated SAVE America Act talking points and LTE template.
Take action and tell your Senators this bill is bad for voters.
No Kings Mobilization
LWVUS is joining No Kings as a national partner on Saturday, March 28. Leagues are welcome to lean in locally and participate in activations with partners on the ground in a nonpartisan manner. For Leagues who decide to mobilize for No Kings, please utilize our Protest Safety Guidance and Guidance for Leagues About Nonpartisanship and Partnerships.
If you have people in your network (LWV or otherwise) who you think should be a speaker at a No Kings action on March 28th, please have them fill out the Speaker Intake Form.

| REQUEST TO SPEAK (RTS): USE RTS TO INFLUENCE OUTCOME OF LEGISLATION | |
What is Request to Speak (RTS)?
Request to Speak (RTS) is an online, real-time system that allows the public to register opinions on bills being heard in committee. You can:
-
Indicate whether you are “for” or “against” the bill
-
Write a brief comment explaining your position
-
Register your willingness to speak (testify) during the committee hearing
We encourage you to use this powerful tool to make your voice heard at the legislature.
When Can I Use RTS?
You can only use RTS when a bill is being heard in committee and for a few days before the committee hearing. The legislative session starts the second Monday in January and lasts at least 100 days.
How Can I Learn More?
How do I get an RTS Account?
If you do not have an RTS account, please complete the Request to Speak Form, and a league volunteer will register your account at the Capitol. We will create your account with a generic password. Once you receive an email from us confirming that your account has been set up, we advise you to change your password immediately. Please note that you cannot register for RTS online.

2026 Legislative Week Lunch & Learn Series Recap with YouTube Links
ICYMI: We hosted another engaging series of six virtual Lunch and Learn sessions during this year’s LWVAZ Legislative Lobby Week, featuring excellent speakers from both the public and private sectors. These sessions, open to everyone, covered a broad range of topics, including freedom of the press, the current state of education in Arizona, and the importance of protecting Arizona voter rolls from federal administrative overreach. Two of the sessions were inspired by and co-presented with local leagues, and all were made possible by our dedicated and talented League members, who served as presenters, moderators, and facilitators, devoting countless hours to preparation and administrative and technical support.
If you missed any of the live sessions or would like to view them again, all recordings are now available on our YouTube channel, in the Legislative Week Lunch and Learn playlist.
We encourage you to share these widely with your networks, as these vital topics impact not only League members but all Arizonans.
Ballot Analysis Teams:
The League of Women Voters of Arizona is recruiting volunteers to serve on Ballot Analysis Teams to help develop clear, unbiased explanations of the ballot measures expected on the 2026 ballot, including multiple legislative referrals. Volunteers will work within a strictly nonpartisan framework to research each measure and help draft balanced pro and con explanations that inform voters without advocating. Team members may also be asked to help prepare League arguments that could be submitted in support of or opposition to specific measures, consistent with League positions. This is a short-term commitment, with arguments needed by June (date tba) and broader analysis completed by August for inclusion in VOTE411 and printed voter education materials. If you are interested in contributing your research, writing, or analytical skills, please email lwvazadvocacy@gmail.com to volunteer.
